Birberssa Demisse

Birberssa has over 25 years of experience in delivering audit and assurance and various consultancy services. Birberssa’s client portfolio ranges from owner-managed businesses to large and complex entities.

As a technical committee member of the National Steering Committee for Developing Accounting and Auditing Standards for Ethiopia, Birberssa played an active role in drafting the Financial Reporting Law (FRL) for Ethiopia.

Birberssa has served as a member of Board of Directors of Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia (AABE) and president of Ethiopian Professional Association of Accountants and Auditors (EPAAA).

In November 2014, Birberssa received an award from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) UK office as a recognition of his outstanding contribution to the accountancy and finance profession in Ethiopia.

Birberssa holds a special diploma in IPSAS obtained from the Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accounting, UK. He also holds advanced Professional Certificate in International Taxation from International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD) based in Amesterdam , Netherlands.
